Soccer Ball
Soccer balls are used in the game of Soccer. The standard
ball is a Size 5, although smaller sizes exist usually for kids. Most
modern Soccer Balls are stitched from 32 panels of waterproofed leather
or plastic, with a ratio of 12 regular pentagons and 20 regular hexagons.
The 32-panel configuration became common throughout Continental Europe
in the 1960s. It was popularized worldwide by the Adidas Telstar, the
official ball of the 1970 World Cup. Soccer balls can even be inscribed
with the name of the teams, the date, the name of the stadium and sometimes
even the longitude and latitude of the center spot of the pitch.
Soccer balls are usually heavily pressurized, due to the fact that it
is being kicked around repeatedly. Because of that, soccer balls need
to be fully aired every time out. A flat ball is a useless ball.
